Music

Children at Horfield develop an understanding of the expressive use of music through appreciation and performance, creating their own compositions and experiencing music from contrasting traditions and countries. We encourage live musicians to perform with, and for children and class lessons are supported by a wide choice of extra curricular activities, including recorders, guitars and brass lessons.
As they progress through the school, children begin to understand how they can use ICT skills to extend their learning in music through CD Rom and recording equipment. They continue to listen to music and develop an ability to respond to, analyse and evaluate both live and recorded music. Back to top
