Collective Worship

Collective Worship
This school is fully prepared to comply with current legislation which requires daily acts of collective worship for all children. As a Church of England Voluntary Controlled school we attempt to ensure that all assemblies are compatible with the practices of the Church of England and that assemblies provide opportunities for spiritual and moral development. The weekly pattern of assemblies for 1999/00 will be;
Monday Whole school assembly taken by the Head / Deputy Head
Tuesday Infant singing practice / Junior class assembly
Wednesday Junior singing practice / Infant class assembly
Thursday Whole school assembly taken by a visitor
(usually the Rector or Curate from the Parish Church.)
Friday Whole school "sharing" assembly.
Parents have the right to request that their child be withdrawn from collective worship. In these circumstances children will usually be supervised by another class teacher or general assistant for the duration of the assembly. Should you wish to exercise this right please will you make your request in writing to the Head Teacher.
Similar arrangements will apply if parents wish to exercise their right to withdraw their children from R.E.
