Clothing and Jewellery
The school formally adopted a dress code based on the royal blue sweatshirts provided through the School Association during the 1997/98 academic year. This has been a great success and there is now an expectation that children will come to school dressed according to the following code:

Tops sweatshirt, jumper, cardigan in royal blue
shirt, blouse, tee-shirt, polo shirt in royal blue or white
Dresses plain royal blue or blue/white stripes/checks
Bottoms trousers, shorts, skirts, jogging bottoms, leggings in royal blue, navy, black or grey. The governors do not encourage the wearing of denim jeans.
Footwear - flat shoes (with back or heel retaining strap), trainers, daps/plimsolls. Not plastic 'jelly' shoes, as these tend to have slippery soles.

The governors are especially keen to promote the wearing of sweatshirts and polo-shirts bearing the school logo which are available from the School Association, and all these items are in line with the dress code which has been adopted. An order form showing the full range of items available from the School Association is available from the office.

Children may not wear earrings. Small studs are permitted but you should realize that even these present some risk to children and you may think it wise to postpone ear piercing until your child is older.

In the summer children are encouraged to wear hats at play times to minimise the damaging effects of the sun and we do not allow skimpy clothing or crop tops even when it is very hot. T shirts with inappropriate slogans are also strongly discouraged.
The school takes no responsibility for the safety of watches, jewellery or other expensive items.

Please will you see that all personal belongings are marked with your child's name. We make every effort to return lost property but this is often difficult if not impossible if there is no means of identification. Back to top
